Carstairs is a village in upper Clydesdale, known primarily for its railway junction on the west coast main line where trains split for Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The village is a quiet, rural settlement with views to the surrounding hills including Tinto.
The railway station provides services to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Lanark, while the A70 and A73 roads connect to the wider network.
