Bridge of Allan is a small town two miles north of Stirling, sitting on the Allan Water at the foot of the Ochil Hills.

It developed as a Victorian spa town in the 19th century and the handsome villas and tree-lined streets from that era still define its character.

The University of Stirling campus lies on its southern edge, bringing a steady flow of students and academic life to the area.

Bridge of Allan has a good range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants along its main street and the surrounding countryside offers easy walking and cycling.

Stirling is a council area stretching from the city of Stirling in the heart of Scotland's central belt northward and westward into the Trossachs, the Breadalbane hills and some of the most dramatic Highland landscape in the country.
