Stanley is a village on the River Tay, about 7 miles north of Perth, built largely to house workers at the Stanley Mills textile complex established in 1786.
Stanley Mills is now a Historic Environment Scotland property and the preserved mill buildings on the riverbank are among the most significant examples of early industrial architecture in Scotland.
The village has a compact residential character with basic local services and the surrounding Tayside scenery gives it a pleasant setting within easy reach of Perth.
