Kirkton is a post-war housing scheme in the north of Dundee, developed from the late 1940s onwards and sitting between Downfield and the Fintry area.

The neighbourhood has local shops, a primary school and a community centre and is well served by bus routes running south towards the city centre.

Kirkton has a settled, family-oriented character and its location on the northern edge of the city gives it a slightly more open feel than many inner-city neighbourhoods.

Despite its city status, Dundee is remarkably walkable - most neighbourhoods are within a few miles of the centre - and the Tay Road Bridge, railway station and A90 connect it quickly to Fife, Perth and Aberdeen.
