About Brechin
Brechin is a small city in northwestern Angus, sitting on the South Esk about 26 miles north of Dundee - one of Scotland's smallest cities by population, its status deriving from its ancient cathedral.
Brechin Cathedral dates from the 11th century and the round tower beside it is one of only two Irish-style round towers on mainland Scotland, a remarkable survival from the early medieval church.
