Coalburn is a small village in the upper Clyde Valley. As its name suggests, the village owes its existence to coal mining. The mines have long since closed.
The village sits on elevated ground with views across the moorland and farmland of upper Clydesdale.
Walking routes include paths through the nearby Broken Cross Muir and connecting routes towards the Douglas Valley.
