About Fort William

Fort William sits at the head of Loch Linnhe in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain and is the largest town in the west Highlands with a population of around 10,000.

The more remote communities depend on trunk roads, the scenic rail lines to Kyle of Lochalsh, Wick and Thurso and the ferry services that connect the west coast to the islands.
