About Window & Door Installers

A window and door installer fits new uPVC, composite, aluminium or timber windows and external doors - whole-house replacements, single units or upgrades to existing properties.

Look for FENSA or CERTASS registration so the installer can self-certify the work to building regulations and you avoid a separate council inspection.

Energy ratings matter for both heating bills and resale - aim for A-rated double or triple glazing, and ask about the warranty on both the units and the installation.

Also covers:
  • window fitter
  • double glazing
  • uPVC windows
  • composite doors
  • front door installation

About Clarkston

Clarkston is a residential suburb in the heart of East Renfrewshire, known for its popular shopping area centred on Clarkston Road.

The town has a village feel despite its proximity to Glasgow and is served by Clarkston railway station on the East Kilbride line.

Housing is a mix of sandstone villas, inter-war bungalows and semi-detached houses, with some newer developments on the fringes.

Clarkston has a good range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants and benefits from the East Renfrewshire school catchment.

The older properties and high homeownership rates drive a healthy market for renovation, rewiring and general property improvement.

About East Renfrewshire

East Renfrewshire is a compact council area on the southern edge of Glasgow, stretching from the suburban communities of Giffnock and Clarkston southward through Newton Mearns to the rural uplands around Eaglesham and Neilston.

The area consistently ranks among the highest in Scotland for school attainment and quality of life, making it one of the most sought-after places to live in the Glasgow area. Giffnock, Newton Mearns and Clarkston are particularly popular with families drawn to the schools, green spaces and village-style high streets that give the area a distinct character despite its proximity to the city.

Barrhead is the largest town by population and has a more industrial heritage than the leafy eastern suburbs, with a character rooted in textile manufacturing and engineering. Neilston and Eaglesham, further south, are attractive conservation villages surrounded by open countryside and farmland that stretches toward the Renfrewshire Heights.

The economy is largely residential, with many residents commuting to Glasgow for work. Rail services from Giffnock, Clarkston, Newton Mearns, Barrhead and Neilston connect to Glasgow Central, most journeys taking under 20 minutes. The M77 motorway runs through the western side of the area, providing fast road access to the city centre and south toward Ayrshire.

East Renfrewshire combines the convenience of a city-edge location with a strong sense of local community and genuinely attractive countryside on its doorstep. The Whitelee Windfarm on the southern boundary - one of the largest onshore windfarms in Europe - offers miles of walking and cycling trails with views across the central belt, and the rolling farmland around Eaglesham and Neilston gives the area a rural character that belies how close it is to Glasgow.
