About Accountants

An accountant handles your finances - from annual accounts and tax returns to bookkeeping, VAT and payroll, helping you stay on top of your obligations and keep more of what you earn.

A good local accountant who understands your business saves you time, stress and often more money than they cost - especially if you're self-employed or running a small company.

Check they are registered with a recognised professional body such as ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland), ACCA or AAT and ask how they charge - fixed fee, hourly or a monthly retainer.

About Stamperland

Stamperland is a residential area between Clarkston and Giffnock, popular with families for its quiet streets and proximity to good schools.

The area developed mainly in the mid-20th century and has a suburban character with easy access to both East Renfrewshire and Glasgow amenities.

Housing is predominantly semi-detached and detached family homes from the 1940s to 1960s, many with front and rear gardens.

The area sits within the catchment of well-regarded East Renfrewshire schools and is close to the shops and cafes of Clarkston.

Many homeowners invest in upgrading and extending the mid-century properties, generating regular work for builders, electricians and bathroom and kitchen fitters.

About East Renfrewshire

East Renfrewshire is a compact council area on the southern edge of Glasgow, stretching from the suburban communities of Giffnock and Clarkston southward through Newton Mearns to the rural uplands around Eaglesham and Neilston.

The area consistently ranks among the highest in Scotland for school attainment and quality of life, making it one of the most sought-after places to live in the Glasgow area. Giffnock, Newton Mearns and Clarkston are particularly popular with families drawn to the schools, green spaces and village-style high streets that give the area a distinct character despite its proximity to the city.

Barrhead is the largest town by population and has a more industrial heritage than the leafy eastern suburbs, with a character rooted in textile manufacturing and engineering. Neilston and Eaglesham, further south, are attractive conservation villages surrounded by open countryside and farmland that stretches toward the Renfrewshire Heights.

The economy is largely residential, with many residents commuting to Glasgow for work. Rail services from Giffnock, Clarkston, Newton Mearns, Barrhead and Neilston connect to Glasgow Central, most journeys taking under 20 minutes. The M77 motorway runs through the western side of the area, providing fast road access to the city centre and south toward Ayrshire.

East Renfrewshire combines the convenience of a city-edge location with a strong sense of local community and genuinely attractive countryside on its doorstep. The Whitelee Windfarm on the southern boundary - one of the largest onshore windfarms in Europe - offers miles of walking and cycling trails with views across the central belt, and the rolling farmland around Eaglesham and Neilston gives the area a rural character that belies how close it is to Glasgow.
