Methil is a town on the south coast of Fife, adjacent to Leven and Buckhaven, with a long history tied to coal, docks, and shipbuilding.
Methil Docks were once one of the busiest coal ports in Scotland, exporting coal from the Fife coalfield to ports across Europe.
The docks area has been partially redeveloped for renewable energy fabrication, bringing new industrial activity to the waterfront.
